I used to hate Japan.

Unreasonable hierarchical relationships, a culture of not speaking one's mind straight, people losing hope for the future after an era of  "Japan as number one".

This discomfort led me to leave and study abroad in the United States during my high school years.
As seen from the outside, I felt that Japan was becoming more and more ridiculed and its presence was diminishing.

When I returned to Japan after graduation, the situation was still the same.
I was even more disappointed in this country that was not changing in any way, and I tried so many times to leave this country again.

In the midst of all this, I went to Kumano Kodo to escape reality and what I do next.
More than 80% of the tourists were from overseas, and I was told, "Thank you for keeping this wonderful nature. This was third time visiting Kumano Kodo " 

What is ordinary to us is actually very valuable to someone. 
Since then, I embarked on a journey to explore the wonders of Japan. This country is not yet abandoned.

Japan is becoming my hope.
Met so many people who are working hard to maintain the wonderful nature and culture of Japan alive.
I want people all over the world to experience these precious moments, and through that, I hope to bring back pride to Japan and to the people. Most of all, I want Japan to be a country that I am proud of.

My journey has just begun.
Now, why don't you join me and see a Japan you have not seen?

I wish I could tell the 15-year-old me.
Japan is still wonderful.
