Our guide, Kota Yaguchi

Welcome to Hayama!

Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of running a small café in this beautiful town (the café is still running, now passed on to a new owner). Through this experience, I’ve had the opportunity to meet incredible individuals who are deeply engaged in activities that benefit the community, society, and the future.

This tour offers a unique experience where we visit these inspiring people, listen to their stories, and then cook together using ingredients sourced directly from them. It’s a new way to connect with the essence of a place through food.

We look forward to welcoming you and sharing this special journey with you!

BIO

Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa in 1989. Founder and CEO of Japan Adventures Co.

As a boy, he spent his days building a secret base in the mountains behind his house, fishing for crawfish, and playing with nature on his own. Later, the hills behind his house became a residential area, and he felt the loss of nature as the years went by.

Later, he`s gotten into baseball and at age of 15, he decided to spend three years in high school in Florida, U.S.A. by himself to become an MLB player. He returned to Japan for college and fell in love with American football this time. After graduation, he worked for 4 years as a corporate sales representative for a major IT company.
He has been playing sports ever since he can remember, but he fell into a lack of exercise while working at the company, and breakup with his girlfriend dated for 5 years caused him depressed.

Feeling that physical exercise is the key to a rich life, he started his own business.
He launched "offispo," a welfare program that allows office workers to play sports in the office in their spare time. He also started an international sports school for children.
In 2023, he traveled to Costa Rica and was astonished by its thriving ecotourism.
During the coronavirus pandemic, he traveled throughout Japan and reconfirmed the wonders of nature in Japan, which was connected to his experience in Costa Rica.
He immediately began to take action and studied hard for the first time since his junior high school entrance exams to take the national examinations required to establish a tour company. In October 2023, he passed the national exam and established Japan Adventures Co.
He is now busy conveying the charms of Japan.
His latest dream is to produce 10 million yen players in the tourism industry.
